Hanshin Tigers Coach Atsushi Fujimoto to Depart Team

Atsushi Fujimoto, the general coach for the Hanshin Tigers, is reportedly leaving the team at the end of the current season. This news follows the team's exit from the Climax Series, where they suffered four consecutive losses to DeNA and failed to secure a single victory at their home stadium, Koshien.

Baseball commentator Yutaka Takagi suggested that Fujimoto's departure may be a way of taking responsibility for the team's disappointing postseason performance despite achieving consecutive Central League titles under manager Kyuji Fujikawa. Takagi also speculated that the sudden exit could stem from internal conflicts with the manager or the psychological impact of the team's consecutive shutout losses during the series.

Fujimoto has been a significant figure within the organization, having contributed to the team's league championship and Japan Series victory under former manager Akinobu Okada. Most recently, he served as a key advisor and close aide to manager Fujikawa, helping lead the team to its second consecutive league title.
