Hanshin University joins game industry cooperative for AI and software development

Hanshin University’s College of AI and SW has joined a new public-private-academic cooperative body for the game industry. Launched by the Gyeonggi Content Agency at the Pangyo Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center, the initiative aims to develop curricula based on field demand to keep pace with generative AI and the latest game engines.

The cooperative includes nine major gaming companies, such as Naver Webtoon, Smilegate, and NC AI, alongside nine specialized universities and high schools in Gyeonggi Province. Hanshin University is focusing on practical collaboration, including curriculum enhancement, Focus Group Testing (FGT) for new titles, and business matching through the PlayX4 game exhibition.

Additionally, the university is playing a key role in establishing intellectual property protection policies for the AI era. Faculty members have been actively involved in national forums, such as the Korea Copyright Protection Agency’s 10th-anniversary event, to discuss proactive copyright protection frameworks and usage standards between creators, platforms, and AI companies.
