Hansi Flick chooses Livaković over Szczęsny for Barcelona's win against Sevilla

FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick opted to start Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livaković in a La Liga match against Sevilla, despite expectations that Wojciech Szczęsny would take the role following an injury to Joan Garcia.

Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, with Raphinha scoring three times. Although Livaković conceded a goal in the 19th minute, the team maintained its lead to strengthen its position at the top of the league.

Following the match, Flick addressed the decision to bench Szczęsny, stating that the choice was based on intuition and discussions with his coaching staff rather than a lack of belief in the Polish goalkeeper. Flick noted that the decision was specific to this match and did not definitively establish the hierarchy between Szczęsny and Livaković.
