FC Barcelona targets Finn Jeltsch and Virgil van Dijk

FC Barcelona is actively planning defensive reinforcements for future transfer windows, focusing on both young prospects and experienced leaders. Head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly identified VfB Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch as a top priority. The 20-year-old German international is attracting significant interest from several European giants, including Real Madrid and Liverpool, with potential transfer fees estimated between €50 million and €60 million.

Additionally, Barcelona is monitoring Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk as a potential long-term partner for Pau Cubarsí. With Van Dijk’s current contract at Anfield set to expire in June 2027, the Catalan club is exploring the possibility of a high-profile move to bolster their backline with his leadership and experience.

While discussions regarding Van Dijk remain exploratory, the pursuit of Jeltsch appears more direct, with Flick leveraging his familiarity with the Bundesliga to secure the young defender. Stuttgart remains in a strong negotiating position as Jeltsch is under contract until 2030.
