Hansi Flick praises Abde Ezzalzouli as Barcelona buy-back clause expires
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has expressed high praise for former winger Abde Ezzalzouli, describing the Moroccan player as ‘fantastic’ due to his confidence in one-on-one situations and goal-scoring ability.
Despite Flick’s admiration, Barcelona no longer holds a simple path to reacquiring the player. Although the club sold Abde to Real Betis in September 2023 for 7.5 million euros, their previous buy-back clause expired in the summer of 2025.
Furthermore, Barcelona’s financial interest in a future sale has diminished. Following a deal involving Vitor Roque, Barcelona’s share of any future transfer fee for Abde was reduced from 50 percent to 20 percent. Any attempt to bring the player back to Camp Nou would now require direct negotiations with Real Betis at significantly higher market costs.
