Hanumangarh MLA Ganeshraj Bansal faces FIR over land dispute
Police in Rajasthan have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Ganeshraj Bansal, an Independent MLA from Hanumangarh, regarding a long-standing dispute over three auctioned plots.
The complaint was filed by advocate Harbans Singh Chandi, who alleges that in 2024, Bansal and several associates entered the disputed properties at night, demolished a boundary wall, broke a room lock, and issued threats. The plots in question, identified as H-39, H-40, and H-41, were reportedly purchased through an auction in 1995.
Following a police inquiry that found a prima facie case, the FIR was registered under eight sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Due to Bansal’s status as a sitting legislator, the Criminal Investigation Department-Crime Branch (CID-CB) will take over the investigation.
