Hanwha Aerospace and Lockheed Martin UK upgrade Redback IFV

Hanwha Aerospace and Lockheed Martin UK have unveiled a new configuration of the Redback infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) designed for NATO markets. Presented at Defence Vehicle Dynamics 2026, the platform integrates a British-built 40mm turret and counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (C-UAS) onto the existing Redback hull.

The turret features a NATO-qualified CTA International 40mm cannon and incorporates Lockheed Martin UK’s SkyKeeper command-and-control system. This setup is designed to provide both conventional infantry firepower and drone defense capabilities within a single, digitally-enabled platform.
