Hanwha Asset Management to List Defense and Manufacturing ETFs in Europe
Hanwha Asset Management announced that its defense‑focused ETF (KDEF) and manufacturing‑focused ETF (KMCA) will be listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in September. The listings will use a white‑label structure, with local managers operating the funds while Hanwha provides the index and expertise.
The firm plans a follow‑up entry into the Abu Dhabi exchange in October‑November. Hanwha’s chief marketing officer, Choi Young‑jin, will travel to Europe in early September to sign strategic MOUs, and will hold an investor roadshow in San Francisco later that month. The company recently appointed Im Dong‑jun as its new CEO, tasking him with accelerating global growth, including the overseas ETF expansion.
Hanwha previously launched KDEF on the New York Stock Exchange, marking the first overseas listing of a Korean defense‑sector ETF, and introduced KMCA to the U.S. market in May, expanding its exposure to Korean manufacturing firms such as Samsung, Hyundai and SK On. The European listings aim to broaden access for international investors to Korean industrial equities.
