Hanwha Chairman Kim Seung-youn gifts 3 billion won in food to employees

Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn has provided summer health food sets to all 69,000 employees in South Korea. The gift, valued at approximately 3 billion won, was funded entirely from Kim's personal assets.

The sets, which include samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), galbitang (short rib soup), and seolleongtang (ox bone soup), were sent directly to the homes of employees to support their health during the summer heat. In a message accompanying the gift, Kim expressed deep gratitude for the dedication of the employees, stating, “I am deeply grateful for the devotion of our employees who have done their best in their respective positions despite constant challenges and difficulties.”

This gesture aligns with Kim's long-standing management philosophy of caring for both employees and their families. Since 2004, he has annually sent encouragement letters and gifts to the children of employees preparing for university entrance exams. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also sent letters and flowers to infected staff to wish for their recovery.
