Hanwha Classic 2026 to feature French Baroque music in Seoul and Gyeongnam

Hanwha Group has announced that ‘Hanwha Classic 2026’ will be held this November in Seoul, Changwon, and Geoje. For the first time in the 14-year history of the series, the performance stages are being expanded to include the Gyeongnam region.

The French ensemble Le Poème Harmonique will perform its first concert in South Korea as part of the program. Led by conductor Vincent Dumestre, the ensemble will present French Baroque music, specifically a program titled ‘Music of the Sun King,’ which recreates the court music of the Louis XIV era. The performances are scheduled for November 22 at the Changwon 3·15 Art Hall, November 24 at the Geoje Culture and Arts Center, and November 26 at the Seoul Arts Center.

The event has been selected as part of the French Embassy’s cultural and arts program to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea, serving as a medium for musical exchange between the two nations.
