Hanwha General Insurance report highlights financial concerns among Korean women
The 2026 Korea Women Report, released by Hanwha General Insurance’s Femtech Research Institute, reveals that while 53.2% of women aged 20–69 identify financial matters as their most important wellness area, satisfaction levels remain low at 40.7%.
This financial satisfaction rate is the lowest among the six wellness categories surveyed—which include physical, mental, relational, growth, and time/lifestyle—and is 6.3 percentage points lower than that of men. The report notes particular dissatisfaction regarding asset formation through savings and investments, as well as preparation for retirement and the future.
The study categorized women into 12 distinct life types based on their priorities and fulfillment levels. While the ‘Life Stability Realist’ group reported the lowest wellness index, the report emphasized that ‘sense of control over life’ (19.5%) was the primary factor influencing overall happiness, rather than mere asset accumulation.
