Hanwha Life to acquire Acuon Capital and Acuon Savings Bank

Hanwha Life has approved the acquisition of Acuon Capital from the global private equity firm EQT. The deal is being conducted in partnership with Centroid Investment Partners. Hanwha Life intends to acquire 17.51 million shares for approximately 440 billion won, which will result in a 50.54% stake in the company.

Through this acquisition, Hanwha Life will also gain control of Acuon Savings Bank, as the capital firm holds a 100% stake in the savings bank. This move is part of a broader strategy to transform Hanwha Life into a comprehensive financial group by integrating credit finance into its existing portfolio of insurance, securities, and asset management.

Additionally, Hanwha Life's board approved participation in a capital increase for its affiliate, Hanwha Investment & Securities. Hanwha Life and Hanwha Asset Management will each contribute 250 billion won. This capital injection is intended to strengthen the securities firm's competitiveness and support its candidacy for designation as a comprehensive financial investment business.
