Hanwha Systems unveils Space AI satellite analysis technology in Poland
Hanwha Systems has officially launched its ‘Space AI Solution’ at the MSPO 2026 defense industry exhibition in Kielce, Poland. This marks the first international unveiling of the company’s next-generation satellite imagery analysis technology.
The solution utilizes artificial intelligence to precisely interpret and analyze data transmitted from various satellites to ground stations. During the event, the company demonstrated real-time AI analysis of actual satellite imagery of the Eastern European region. The technology is designed to automate object detection, situational pattern analysis, and anomaly detection, providing commanders with rapid and accurate decision-making support.
A key feature of the system is its ability to integrate and analyze data from both Electro-Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites. While SAR satellites can operate regardless of weather or lighting conditions, their black-and-white radar images are often difficult for humans to interpret. The Space AI Solution overcomes this by identifying aircraft, ships, and vehicles within seconds and significantly enhancing image resolution.
Hanwha Systems aims to link this intelligence with existing strike systems, such as the K9 self-propelled howitzer and Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher, to streamline the process from satellite reconnaissance to tactical engagement. The company plans to build a comprehensive space-ground integrated infrastructure, including ultra-low orbit SAR satellites and space AI data centers.
