Hany Shaker's widow discusses late singer's final days and honors
Nahla Tawfik, the widow of the late Egyptian singer Hany Shaker, appeared on the Al-Hayah channel program ‘Wahed Men El Nas’ to share details regarding her husband's final days and his medical struggle. She spoke about the challenges faced during his illness, which included traveling to France for treatment before his passing in May.
Tawfik also reflected on the emotional experience of accepting an honor for Shaker during the 34th edition of the Arab Music Festival. She noted the difficulty of standing on the stage at the Cairo Opera House without him, marking her first time entering the venue in his absence.
To commemorate his legacy, an official announcement was made regarding the placement of a statue of the late artist at the Cairo Opera House.
