Hanyang University Cancer Hospital to officially open September 4

Hanyang University Cancer Hospital is set to officially open on September 4, transitioning from its long-standing cancer center into a dedicated, independent organizational structure. Building on 35 years of clinical and research experience since 1991, the new hospital will integrate 15 specialized cancer centers to strengthen its multidisciplinary approach.

A key feature of the new hospital is the implementation of a patient-centered fast-track system, which aims to connect diagnosis to surgery within one week, depending on the specific cancer type and stage. To support this, the hospital will utilize dedicated coordinator nurses and a navigation system to guide patients through the complex treatment process.

To mark the opening, the hospital will host an academic symposium titled ‘Paradigm Shift in Next-Generation Solid Tumor Treatment.’ The event will cover advancements in precision medicine, including AI-based lung cancer diagnosis, PSMA PET-CT for prostate cancer, and theranostics. Additionally, sessions will focus on minimally invasive robotic surgery using single-port platforms for urological, thoracic, and gynecological cancers.
