Hapag-Lloyd acquires 25% stake in APM Terminals Maasvlakte II
Hapag-Lloyd has reached an agreement with APM Terminals to acquire a 25% stake in the APM Terminals Maasvlakte II facility in Rotterdam. The partnership is intended to support the terminal's ongoing development, capacity expansion, and operational performance.
The investment is a strategic move to secure long-term access to automated terminal capacity and serves as a key component for the Gemini Cooperation, a partnership between Hapag-Lloyd and A. P. Moller – Maersk. While Hapag-Lloyd expands its global terminal presence through its Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) division, APM Terminals will retain operational control of the site.
