Hapur caste violence: Dalit youth dies after shooting in Badnauli

A Dalit youth named Deepak has died while undergoing treatment at a Meerut medical college following a violent clash in Badnauli village, Hapur. The incident, which stemmed from a long-standing dispute between two communities, involved stone-pelting and gunfire that left three people injured.

The death has triggered significant unrest, leading to protests and road blockades in the area. In response to the rising tension, police forces from Hapur, Bulandshahr, and Meerut have been deployed to the scene. Authorities have restricted the movement of people arriving from outside the area to prevent further escalation.

Six suspects have been arrested, and illegal weapons used in the incident have been recovered. Political leaders, including BSP chief Mayawati and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad, have condemned the violence. Both leaders called for a high-level investigation and urged the government to ensure legal punishment for the perpetrators while providing assistance to the victim's family.
