Hapur: Muslim truck driver dies after alleged assault by Kanwariyas

A 24-year-old truck driver, Azeem Ali, has died following an alleged assault by a group of Kanwariyas in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred near Garhmukhteshwar following a road accident involving Ali's pickup truck and an auto-rickshaw carrying pilgrims participating in the Kanwar Yatra.

According to police reports, the collision resulted in injuries to a 19-year-old auto driver. Following the accident, members of the group allegedly pulled Ali from his vehicle and beat him. After the assault, Ali was taken to a hospital in Meerut before being transferred to a Delhi hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries on August 4.

Authorities have registered an FIR at the Garhmukhteshwar police station. Seven individuals have been booked in connection with the incident.
