Gujarat police recover Rs 4 crore in gold after Nadiad railway station robbery

Gujarat police have arrested four individuals and recovered approximately 2.9 kilograms of gold, valued at roughly Rs 4 crore, following a robbery at Nadiad railway station. The incident occurred on October 3 around 5:00 PM when a passenger, Bharatbhai Chaudhary, was robbed of his bag containing the gold.

The investigation, a joint effort by the Ahmedabad Rural Police and Western Railway Police, led to a dramatic pursuit. After using CCTV footage and technical analysis to trace the suspects' route toward Viramgam, police established roadblocks. During the chase, Inspector S. A. Gadhvi reportedly performed a heroic act by grabbing the door of a moving vehicle and being dragged for approximately 500 meters before successfully using the handbrake to stop the car.

All stolen gold and two vehicles used in the crime have been recovered. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi congratulated the police teams for the successful operation.
