Hapvida reduces gross debt by R$ 322.6 million

Hapvida has announced a reduction of R$ 322.6 million in its gross debt through a combination of debenture repurchases and the early settlement of a currency swap hedge. Both operations were executed with an average discount of 23%.

Regarding the swap contract, the company settled an instrument valued at R$ 128.7 million with a 23% discount, resulting in a financial gain of R$ 29.6 million. Additionally, the company utilized approximately R$ 149.9 million to repurchase 185,355 debentures, which had a nominal updated value of R$ 193.9 million.

These financial moves follow the release of the company's second-quarter 2026 results, which showed a 44% decrease in adjusted EBITDA and a loss margin of 6.3%. The company is also reviewing collective contracts involving 947,000 beneficiaries due to outdated pricing. Market reaction to the debt reduction has been positive, with shares seeing upward movement on the Ibovespa.
