Hapvida restores health insurance for 30,000 Amazonas education workers

Hapvida has restored health insurance services for approximately 30,000 education sector employees in Amazonas following a payment of R$ 7.5 million by the State Secretariat of Education and Sports (Seduc).

The suspension of services occurred earlier this week due to a financial impasse. Hapvida reported outstanding debts totaling approximately R$ 52 million, including seven unpaid monthly fees and remaining balances from 2022.

While services have resumed, the financial dispute remains unresolved. Seduc stated that the state government has already paid over R$ 51.3 million to Hapvida in 2026. Representatives from Seduc, the State Attorney General's Office, the State Finance Secretariat, and Hapvida are scheduled to meet next week to establish a new payment schedule to resolve the matter.
