Harbhajan Singh explains departure from AAP to join BJP

Former cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh has explained his decision to leave the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Singh stated that his primary motivation for joining AAP was to promote sports at both the state and national levels, a goal he discussed with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann when he was first invited to the party.

Singh claimed that his suggestions regarding the development of sports and addressing the drug crisis in Punjab were consistently ignored by the party leadership. He noted that while he had clearly communicated that his focus would remain on sports rather than general politics, his ideas remained unaddressed. He expressed frustration that his vision for the state was not being implemented, which ultimately led to his departure from the party in April alongside six other MPs.
