Harbour Air to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines

Harbour Air has announced a proposed acquisition of Pacific Coastal Airlines to form a new regional airline group in British Columbia. The deal aims to combine Harbour Air’s seaplane network with Pacific Coastal’s wheeled-aircraft operations to enhance regional connectivity.

The combined entity is expected to operate a fleet of 59 aircraft, serving 25 communities with up to 300 daily flights. Vancouver is anticipated to serve as a primary hub for the group, utilizing expanded connections through Vancouver International Airport. The new group will employ more than 900 people.

While the companies will come under common Canadian ownership, they intend to maintain their existing brands and independent operations. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval, and no specific closing date has been provided. Both airlines will continue to operate separately in the interim.
