Harbour Island: Body believed to be missing 15-year-old found

The body of 15-year-old Jayden Ferguson was discovered washed ashore on a beach on Harbour Island, Bahamas, following a search for the teenager who went missing on Sunday evening.

Ferguson had been swimming with another boy when they encountered severe difficulties due to heavy waves and dangerous sea conditions. While the other teenager managed to return to shore, Ferguson did not resurface. The initial search operation, involving the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (BASRA), had been temporarily suspended due to the hazardous weather.

Local police have noted that while the remains have been identified by sources close to the family, formal identification is still outstanding. The community and schoolmates have described Ferguson as an athletic and outgoing student involved in basketball, volleyball, and Junkanoo.
