Hard municipality plans multi-million euro senior care project

The municipality of Hard has entered the selection phase for organizations to bid on a multi-million euro project to revitalize the Seniorenhaus am See. The facility has remained vacant since 2023 after it was determined that the building required more extensive renovations than initially anticipated, necessitating the relocation of 37 residents to other care facilities.

The proposed project aims to create a multi-generational center rather than a traditional nursing home. Plans include more than 60 care beds, assisted living spaces, communal housing for seniors, and day care services. The municipality is currently evaluating whether to renovate the existing structure or construct an entirely new building to meet these diverse care needs.
