Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma cleared for India vs Afghanistan ODI series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that all‑rounder Hardik Pandya and former captain Rohit Sharma have passed fitness tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and are cleared to play the three‑match One‑Day International series against Afghanistan.
Pandya recovered from a back strain that limited his participation in the IPL season, while Sharma healed from a hamstring injury sustained during the same tournament. Both players completed full bowling and batting drills without pain and received medical approval to join the squad.
The series begins in mid‑June, with the first ODI scheduled in Dharamshala, followed by matches in Lucknow and Chennai. Veteran batsman Virat Kohli remains unavailable due to injury, making Pandya and Sharma key additions to the Indian line‑up.
