Hardik Pandya faces multiple injury setbacks in 2026

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has faced a series of injury setbacks throughout 2026, impacting his availability for several international assignments. Following the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, Pandya struggled with back spasms during the IPL 2026, causing him to miss four matches for the Mumbai Indians.

During his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Pandya encountered further complications. A quadriceps injury prevented his participation in the ODI series against Afghanistan, while subsequent setbacks, including a calf niggle, delayed his availability for T20I series against Ireland and tours of England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently addressing player workload concerns to mitigate such injuries. Pandya’s fitness remains a critical factor for India’s long-term planning, particularly regarding team balance and depth for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
