Hardik Pandya ruled out of Australia A and New Zealand series due to shin injury

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has suffered a fresh injury setback, specifically a right shin injury, which has significantly delayed his return to competitive cricket. The injury was confirmed via scan reports on September 26, 2026.

As a result of this setback, Pandya is expected to miss the upcoming India A series against Australia A, which is scheduled to begin on October 6. Furthermore, his participation in India’s white-ball tour of New Zealand, starting October 22, is now highly unlikely.

Pandya has been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru since the conclusion of IPL 2026. This latest issue marks his third injury in four months. BCCI medical panel head Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala will assess the reports upon his return from Japan to determine the next steps for Pandya’s rehabilitation. The team management is reportedly taking a cautious approach to his recovery, prioritizing long-term fitness for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
