Hardinsburg man sentenced to 40 years for child molestation

Michael Allen Richardson, 31, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison following convictions in two separate child molestation cases in Washington County, Indiana. The sentences for the charges will run concurrently.

The convictions resulted from two independent investigations conducted by the Indiana State Police in 2024. The first investigation began in May after a school employee reported suspected abuse, leading to a search of Richardson’s Hardinsburg home. A second investigation in July 2024, referred by the Department of Child Services, led to additional charges involving digital evidence. Richardson pleaded guilty to the primary child molestation charges as part of a plea agreement, which resulted in the dismissal of other counts.
