Hargita Karting opens in Csíkszereda, boosting Romanian sport tourism
The Hargita Karting complex officially opened in Csíkszereda, Romania, featuring an 1,100‑metre technical asphalt track, 24 gokarts and six professional simulators, with plans to expand the fleet to 30 vehicles. The inauguration was hosted by press officer Baloga Sándor, who highlighted the sport’s role as the most accessible entry to motorsport, and by Mayor Korodi Attila, who called the investment a milestone for the city’s development and sport‑tourism potential.
The facility is described as unique at the national level, catering to professional racers, hobbyists, families and tourists. It aims to serve as a training ground for young drivers and a new attraction for the region, supporting local businesses such as hotels and restaurants.
Officials expect the karting centre to stimulate economic growth, create new leisure opportunities, and position Csíkszereda as a flagship sport‑tourism destination in the area.
