Haripur: Body of missing five-year-old Ayat Noor recovered from well

The body of five-year-old Ayat Noor, who had been missing for 15 days from Pathan Colony in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been recovered from a well near University Road.

Police investigations, aided by CCTV footage showing the child being led away by a boy, led to the arrest of five suspects, most of whom are residents of the same neighborhood and under the age of 16. A primary suspect reportedly confessed to a magistrate that the child was abducted and sexually assaulted in a nearby open ground before being killed.

The discovery has sparked intense public outrage, with local residents staging protests on GT Road and at Siddique Akbar Chowk to demand justice and strict legal action against the perpetrators. Following a post-mortem examination, the body has been handed over to the child's relatives.
