Haris Tabakovic signs for Red Bull Salzburg from Hoffenheim
Bosnian striker Haris Tabakovic, 32, has joined Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg on a three‑year contract that runs to 2029. The move from TSG Hoffenheim was announced by both clubs on 11 July 2026, with the transfer fee reported at around €5 million.
Tabakovic, who began his career in Austria with Austria Lustenau and Austria Vienna, later played for Hertha BSC before moving to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2024. He spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach, scoring 13 goals in 32 league appearances and helping the team avoid relegation. He also made a brief World Cup appearance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Marcus Mann said the club sought a “clear profile” for its attack, highlighting Tabakovic’s height, physicality and goal‑scoring instincts. Sport director Paul Pajduch described the deal as an “economically attractive overall package.” New Salzburg coach Danny Röhl is expected to integrate Tabakovic into training within two weeks.
