BRS intensifies criticism of Telangana government over policy and irrigation
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has intensified its criticism of the Congress-led Telangana government, with Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of failing to fulfill election promises. KTR alleged a nexus between the Congress and BJP, questioning why the Enforcement Directorate has not released details following raids on Congress Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
In addition to political allegations, the BRS has raised concerns regarding agricultural distress and infrastructure. KTR and senior leader T. Harish Rao reported significant crop damage in the Palamuru district due to inadequate irrigation, despite the availability of water in the Krishna and Godavari rivers. They urged the government to utilize the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme more effectively.
The BRS also criticized the government’s demolition of homes in areas affected by Musi-related projects, claiming the administration is targeting poor residents while sparing those belonging to Congress leaders. Meanwhile, the BRS has seen a boost in local strength as several prominent leaders from the Congress party joined the BRS in Rajendranagar.
