Harold Varner III disputes Indiana golf course removal claims

LIV Golf professional Harold Varner III and his teammates were involved in a dispute at Bear Slide Golf Club, a public course in Cicero, Indiana. The incident occurred on August 18th while Varner was in the area for his final LIV Golf tournament of the season.

Bear Slide Golf Club reported that Varner’s group, originally booked as a foursome, arrived 30 minutes late with six players. The club stated they accommodated the extra golfers by allowing them to play as two threesomes, but the group insisted on playing as a single six-some. According to the club, the group followed the split-group guideline for three holes before attempting to combine again, at which point they were asked to leave and issued refunds.

Varner has disputed the club’s account of the events via Instagram, claiming there were several ‘inaccuracies’ in their description. He stated that he was not personally forced to leave or notified of a ban, but rather exited without issue after other members of his group were asked to depart.
