Harput Klasik Kıraat Meclisi program begins in Elazığ

The Harput Klasik Kıraat Meclisi program has commenced in Elazığ, organized by the Fırat University Faculty of Theology. The four-day event, running from August 20 to August 23, is supported by the Elazığ Governor's Office, Elazığ Municipality, and the Directorate of Religious Affairs.

The program aims to promote effective methods for teaching the Quran, preserve the science of recitation (qira'at) for future generations, and improve quality standards in hafiz training. Activities include academic discussions, daytime and evening sessions, and Quranic recitations by imams and hafiz from Istanbul, Ankara, and Elazığ.

Key participants include Deputy President of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, Dr. Hafız Osman Şahin, who delivered the opening lecture on the importance of correct recitation. The event features various scientific activities held at the Fırat University Faculty of Medicine Conference Hall, the Harput Religious Specialization Center, and the Sara Hatun Mosque.
