Harran University Hospital introduces robotic surgery in Şanlıurfa
Harran University Hospital in Şanlıurfa, Turkey, has implemented a new advanced robotic surgery system to enhance regional healthcare capabilities. The technology is designed to assist in the surgical treatment of various urological conditions, specifically targeting prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers.
The system provides surgeons with three-dimensional magnified imaging and high-precision movement, which is particularly beneficial for operating within narrow anatomical areas. Potential clinical advantages for patients include smaller incisions, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times.
According to Professor Halil Çiftçi, Head of the Urology Department at Harran University Hospital, the first robotic operations are scheduled to begin shortly, marking a significant step in strengthening the hospital's technical and academic infrastructure.
