Harriet Harnden wins historic Downhill World Cup in Les Gets

The mountain bike World Cup in Les Gets, France, featured historic technical achievements and significant competitive results. British rider Harriet Harnden secured a historic Downhill Elite World Cup victory using a mountain bike equipped with a belt drive and gear system. This marks the first time an Elite World Cup has been won with this technology, earning Harnden a 100,000 Euro prize previously offered by Gates for the first such achievement.

In the cross-country events, French rider Adrien Boichis won both the Short Track XC and the Cross-Country Olympic races. Mathieu van der Poel, seeking to complete his collection of world championship titles across different cycling disciplines, finished second in the Olympic race and 11th in the Short Track event.
