Harris County Ex‑Boyfriend Charged with Capital Murder After Shooting Kills Sister and Brother

A shooting on West Canino Road in Harris County, Texas, left two young adults dead. Victims identified as 18‑year‑old Karen Rivera and her 29‑year‑old brother Alberto Sidonio, who were shot multiple times while standing outside a trailer‑park driveway.

The suspect, 19‑year‑old Angel Javier Rodriguez – Rivera’s ex‑boyfriend and the father of her toddler – fled the scene and was arrested about 20 minutes later on Will Clayton Parkway. He has been charged with capital murder, which carries life imprisonment or the death penalty. The toddler was unharmed but lost both parents, prompting Sgt. Michael Ritchie to note, "Unfortunately for that child, today they just lost both their parents. One’s deceased and one’s going to be in prison for the rest of their life."
