Harrison Butker kicks 69-yard field goal in preseason game

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker converted a 69-yard field goal during a preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The kick occurred on the final play of the first half following a Buccaneers turnover.

While the distance is one of the longest ever recorded in an NFL game, the feat will not count toward official NFL records because it occurred during the preseason. Butker’s official career-long field goal remains 62 yards, set in 2022 against the Buffalo Bills.

The current official NFL record for the longest field goal is 68 yards, held by Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little. Little also holds the record for the two longest official field goals in league history, having previously recorded a 67-yard kick.
