Harrison Petty’s head‑rub celebration targets former foe Patrick Voss in AFL win

Melbourne Demons forward Harrison Petty scored three goals in a 113‑109 victory over the Fremantle Dockers at Optus Stadium. After his second‑half goal he rubbed his freshly shaved head, a direct reference to an earlier incident in which Dockers forward Patrick Voss repeatedly rubbed Petty’s head during a round‑two clash.

The Voss incident led the AFL to amend its conduct rules, instructing umpires to award a free kick for any player who taunts an opponent by rubbing the head. Voss was subsequently charged with misconduct and fined $1,500. Petty’s celebration highlighted the new rule and underscored the ongoing rivalry between the two players.
