Harrison Smith returns to Minnesota Vikings for 15th season

Harrison Smith, a veteran safety and franchise icon, has agreed to return to the Minnesota Vikings for his 15th NFL season. After contemplating retirement throughout the offseason, the 37-year-old has signed a one-year contract worth $12.25 million, which includes performance-based incentives that could bring his total earnings up to $16.25 million.

Smith, a six-time Pro Bowler, has spent his entire professional career with the Vikings. He holds significant franchise records, including being among the leaders in interceptions and sacks for defensive backs. His return provides critical depth to a secondary that has faced recent injuries to players like Jamal Adams.

The Vikings are scheduled to open their season against the Green Bay Packers on September 13.
