Harry Kane considers NFL kicker career after soccer retirement

Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich striker and England captain, has expressed serious interest in pursuing a career as an NFL kicker following his retirement from professional soccer. Kane noted that transitioning to American football is a more realistic long-term goal than professional golf, citing the similarities in pressure and technique between penalty kicks and field goals.

Kane suggested that a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) could potentially serve as a bridge, allowing him to balance both sports due to differing seasonal schedules. He emphasized that such a transition would require significant preparation, likely involving six months to a year of dedicated training.

While contemplating his future, Kane also confirmed he is nearing a contract extension with Bayern Munich. Additionally, England manager Thomas Tuchel has praised Kane as a ‘complete package’ and a deserving candidate for the Ballon d'Or following a prolific season where he scored over 70 goals.
