Harry Kane and FC Bayern Munich begin contract extension talks

FC Bayern München has officially entered contract extension negotiations with striker Harry Kane. Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that talks have begun, noting that both the club and the England captain are clearly positioned and eager to extend the partnership. Kane, whose current contract expires after the 2026/27 season, expressed that now is the right time to begin discussions as only one year remains on his deal.

This announcement follows Bayern Munich's 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund to claim the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup. In the match, Michael Olise and Nathaniel Brown provided the goals for the champions, while Fabio Silva scored for Dortmund. The victory marks a strong start to the season for manager Vincent Kompany, particularly as key players like Kane and Olise played full matches despite having recently returned from international duty.

Beyond Kane, Eberl indicated that the club's supervisory board may soon decide on contract extensions for himself and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, whose current agreements run until mid-2027.
