Harry Potter and the Cursed Child celebrates 10 years at London's Palace Theatre

The original two‑part production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child marked its 10‑year anniversary on 30 July 2026 at the Palace Theatre in London. The show, which premiered in 2016 under the auspices of Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, is now the longest‑running modern West End play of its kind.

In a decade the production has delivered 1,762 performances, totalling more than 8,300 hours on stage, and has been seen by over 2.5 million audience members in London alone. Across its run the cast has numbered 276 actors, with 45 making their professional debut. It has amassed 60 awards, including nine Laurence Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards, setting a record for any play.

Writer Jack Thorne reflected on the milestone, saying, "Creating Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been a truly wonderful experience." The anniversary also highlights the play’s global reach, with productions staged in the United States, Japan and the Netherlands and an estimated 14 million viewers worldwide. A new single‑part version is slated to begin on 9 October 2026.
