Harry Styles honors Dolly Parton at Madison Square Garden residency
Following the death of country music legend Dolly Parton at age 80 after a battle with cancer, musicians worldwide have staged various tributes.
During the opening night of his 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden in New York, Harry Styles paused his 'Together, Together' tour to honor Parton. Styles expressed gratitude to his musical inspirations and played a recording of Parton’s iconic 1974 hit ‘I Will Always Love You,’ prompting a massive sing-along from the audience.
Other artists have also offered tributes. In London, Orville Peck performed ‘I Will Always Love You’ at Rough Trade East, and Jack White performed ‘Jolene’ at the Eventim Apollo. In New York, Chris Stapleton delivered a rendition of Parton’s signature song at Jones Beach, while John Mayer performed the track during a private SiriusXM show in the Hamptons.
