Harshanaryan Dhaubhadel, former Nepali envoy, dies at 90

Prof. Harshanaryan Dhaubhadel, a prominent Nepali educationist and former ambassador to India and Bhutan, has passed away in Calgary, Canada, at the age of 90. He had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

Dhaubhadel held several significant roles at Tribhuvan University over a 36-year career, including serving as a professor, dean of the Faculty of Education, and executive director of the Centre for Educational Development and Research (CERID).

A notable intellectual and activist, he played a key role in Nepal’s democratic movement. As president of the Nepal Professors Association and the Professional Federation, he represented university professors during the 1990 People’s Movement.
