Hartmut Schwieger, construction technology expert, passes away

Hartmut Schwieger, a prominent expert in construction technology and managing director of the Landesgütegemeinschaft Erhaltung von Bauwerken Hessen – Thüringen e. V. (LGGHuT), has passed away unexpectedly on May 25.

Schwieger was a highly regarded figure in the construction industry, contributing significantly to the Bundesgütegemeinschaft Instandsetzung von Betonbauwerken e. V. His work focused heavily on quality assurance, the preservation of structures, and the advancement of structural inspection standards. He was also instrumental in the professional qualification and certification of engineers.

A graduate of TU Braunschweig, Schwieger held various technical and leadership roles, including positions with the Bundesverband Kalksandsteinindustrie and the Verband baugewerblicher Unternehmer Hessen e. V. He was also a key figure in shaping the annual LGGHuT technical symposium in Bad Nauheim.
