Hartz, Rot, Gold returns to German television in September

The social reportage series ‘Hartz, Rot, Gold’ is returning to television. Starting September 8, 2026, new double episodes will air every Tuesday at 8:15 PM on RTLZWEI, with availability on RTL+ seven days in advance.

The upcoming episodes follow individuals living in Germany’s poorest regions. Featured stories include Elke, who has secured a new apartment in Gelsenkirchen after a long period of uncertainty; Jessica and Olaf from Hamburg, who are preparing for the birth of their second child despite medical concerns regarding the unborn baby’s heart; and Punk Paddy, who is considering a fresh start in eastern Germany by applying for a house ruin in Altenburg.
