Tsukuba scaffolding company president stabbed by six employees
Six employees of a scaffolding construction company have been arrested on attempted murder charges following a stabbing incident in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. The victim, a 28-year-old company president, sustained serious injuries during the attack in a residential area in the early hours of September 22.
Investigations by the Ibaraki Prefectural Police suggest the attack was motivated by deep-seated grievances regarding labor conditions and compensation. Witnesses and acquaintances reported that employees were highly dissatisfied with unpaid overtime and stagnant wages, particularly as the president was seen spending large sums of money on luxury vehicles and nightlife.
One of the suspects, identified as Maruyama, had previously shared photos of injured employees with others, indicating ongoing tension within the workplace. The group of six young workers allegedly acted in concert to carry out the attack.
