Turkey economic update: Gold forecasts, GDP data, and agricultural subsidies

Turkey's economic landscape is seeing significant activity across multiple sectors. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced the transfer of approximately 67 million TL in agricultural support payments to farmers to ensure production sustainability and support rural development.

In the financial markets, Goldman Sachs analysts project that gold prices could reach $4,900 per ounce by the end of 2026, driven by central bank reserve diversification and shifting interest rate expectations. This follows a period of volatility where gold prices experienced sharp movements following remarks from Fed officials.

Macroeconomic indicators are also in focus, with TÜİK scheduled to release second-quarter GDP growth data, labor force statistics, and August inflation figures. Currency markets remain active, with the US Dollar and Euro trading at elevated levels against the Turkish Lira. Additionally, fuel prices in various regions, including Trabzon and Yerköy, continue to fluctuate, with recent diesel price reductions noted in some areas.
